My name is Mª del Carmen Mérida Alguacil. I was born in 1942 in the city of Toledo.

From the age of 65 I began to investigate in the world of painting in a self-taught way, with the help of a computer, as well as visiting museums and art galleries.

My first steps were in the center of greater Toledo, thanks to a friend who told me about it. With the passage of time and the valuations of those around me I knew that painting is what I like, as well as a talent that seemed to be hidden.

A year later, when I realized that I needed to move forward and work on my technique, I decided to attend private lessons with the painter José Ignacio, where I continued for two years.

In 2015 I held an exhibition in the city of Toledo, as well as the following year in Bargas, a town near Toledo. In 2016 I was also fortunate to make a collaboration with another painter in the town of Olias. At present, I am preparing my next exhibition that will take place from June 5 to 24 in the Library of the Alcazar of Toledo (Borbon Lorenzana hall).
